Custom Ring Design

A ruby and gold floral brooch under construction on its design sketch, with round-nose pliers and a jeweller's loupe

A ring that exists only for you — drawn from an idea you have been carrying, built around a stone with a past, or sized and shaped for a hand that never fits off-the-shelf jewellery. Custom ring design starts with a conversation and ends with a piece no one else can own.

How a custom ring comes together

  1. Start with the idea. A sketch, a screenshot, an heirloom in a drawer, a stone you bought on a whim — or “no idea yet, help.” All valid starting points.
  2. Design it together. Proportions, metal, stone — silver or gold, moissanite or diamond. You see and approve the design before anything is made.
  3. Made, finished, checked. Built to your finger size, finished by hand, inspected — and ready for engraving if it wants a line inside.

What you can bring

  • A stone with a story. Heirloom diamonds and gemstones can be reset into something you will actually wear every day.
  • A sketch or a screenshot. Half-formed ideas are the best kind to start with; the details get shaped together.
  • A budget. Metal and stone move the number far more than the design does — name the ceiling and we will design under it.
  • A reality. Stacks that sit true with a wedding band, wide bands on small hands, low profiles for hands that work with things — fit is part of the design.

Good to know

  • Made-to-order is final sale. Custom pieces cannot be returned, so the design, size and cost are all confirmed in writing before making starts.
  • Engraving finishes it. A date, initials or a short line inside — jewellery engraving is the natural last step on a custom ring.
  • Timeline agreed up front. Custom work is scheduled piece by piece; you will know the dates before we begin, not after.

Common questions

Can you match a ring I already own?

A companion piece or a replacement can be designed to sit alongside an existing ring. A true twin and an inspired relative are different jobs — we will talk through which one you want and what is achievable.

Do you work with stones I already have?

Yes — heirloom and separately purchased stones are welcome. We check that each stone is suited to setting first, and say so if it is not.

How do I start?

Send the idea, any photos, and your rough budget. You will get a quote and a first read on the design before committing to anything.
